Serbia Zijin Mining organized a safety awards ceremony for April 2024. At today's ceremony, according to Li Shuhong, Director of the Department of Occupational Safety, Health, and Environmental Protection, 112 outstanding individuals, 28 exceptional foremen, 13 teams in the excellent pre-shift meeting category, as well as two exceptional units Honda Lianshao (Rakita Project) and CC-3, were honored.
"Thanks to the measures and adopted safety policy, as well as the dedicated work of all 4,000 workers engaged in the Čukaru Peki mine, including employees of contractor companies, Serbia Zijin Mining is today recording its 649th day of safe production," said Su Yongding, the company's General Manager.
He emphasized that stable and safe operations contributed to the company achieving excellent product results in April, which also contributed to the overall results of the Zijin Mining Group, which has reached sixth place among the world's leading mining companies. The General Manager of Serbia Zijin Mining highlighted that the importance of the work of Zijin's companies and their significant contribution to the city of Bor was recently discussed in a meeting by the Presidents of China and Serbia, as well as the President of Zijin Mining Group, Chen Jinghe, who during a recent visit to the companies in Bor stated that the goal is for the annual production of both companies to reach 450,000 tons of copper by 2030, making Serbia the largest copper producer in Europe.
Su Yongding stressed the necessity of continuing to implement and adhere to safety rules and reminded of the ninth principle of DuPont Safety Management, emphasizing that "good safety practices lead to good results."
"We hope that other teams in the company will continue to apply this concept and use it in the future. It is important to improve and become better every day. We are honored to be the recipients of the awards," said outstanding individual awardees Natalija Bačilović and Zhang Depeng, the most prominent pre-shift meeting leader.
